ExtraGive 2025

This year’s ExtraGive celebration marks a special year, the Library is celebrating 100 years of continuous service! In celebration, we will have a picnic style lunch available at the Library from 11 am to 1 pm. Stop out and join us as we celebrate our history and look forward to writing the next 100 years with our community!

We hope you come to celebrate and also remember to support the Library on this ExtraOrdinary day. You can give online at the ExtraGive website by clicking here on November 21st. Thank you for your support of the Library and making the Greater Elizabethtown Area an extraordinary place!

What is ExtraGive and why is it important?

This ExtraOrdinary day occurs the Friday before Thanksgiving week. It’s a 24 hour rush for Library supporters to GiveExtra and achieve the ExtraOrdinary for the Greater Elizabethtown Community. With over 10 years of participation in the ExtraGive, our community has contributed more than $119,000. These gifts, mostly $25 and $50 increments, pool together and make a big impact on our community.

These funds have brought educational programming to the Library, funded replacement computers for the public to use, and purchased 2nd hand shelving to house our growing collection. They have helped fund repairs and collection expenditures.

The Library relies heavily on contributions to keep our doors open, lights on and to provide our programs and services. Elizabethtown Public Library is an independent non-profit Library and the majority of our operating and capital funds come from people like you who support us. When you buy coffee from Elizabethtown Coffee Company, have your passport applications & photos completed at the Library, and give your donations – yes, even when you pay those pesky late fees, it helps us provide new books and materials to lend.

There are many ways you can support the Library. Lancaster County’s ExtraOrdinary Give event is one of these ways. Join us as we celebrate philanthropy across Lancaster County. This event, founded by the Lancaster County Community Foundation, has thrived for more than 10 years. You can be part of this amazing day and have your gift stretched by funds contributed to the stretch pool that are distributed proportionally across all participating organizations.
