Elizabethtown Public Library is a Team of employees and volunteers who seek to make a difference in the Greater Elizabethtown Area. We are helping people Make Their Dreams Come True. We are stimulating learning, literacy and the acquisition of knowledge by providing educational, informational, and recreational books, resources and programs. Each Team member has an important role in bringing Library services to our community. All positions, volunteer and paid, require a complete application for consideration. Background checks are required to continue service with the Library. Some positions have more requirements, these requirements will be listed along with the post or in a related link. Assistant Team Leader (Assistant Manager):

Elizabethtown Coffee Company is a department of Elizabethtown Public Library. We exist to provide a welcoming environment for people to gather over an excellent cup of coffee or tea, get some work done away from home, or take some coffee along home or to a program. We also exist to help support the operations of Elizabethtown Public Library a full-service Library and nonprofit organization. The Coffee Company roasts our specialty coffee onsite. We offer beverages and light refreshments. Specials and environment reflect seasonal Library themes. The Library strives to be a cohesive unit with collaboration across departments.

Full-time, on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain exceptional service to our customers
  • Dedication to the retention of our loyal customer base & strive to acquire new
  • Maintain consistency of experience for all consumers
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and keep the shop clean and organized
  • Manage appropriate budget and inventory
  • Coordinate schedule and team hours for payroll
  • Collaborate with team coordinators for seamless integration of all Library departments
  • Lead by example: Challenge, train and select the right people to do their best
  • Develop and meet sales and performance goals for your department
  • Create teachable moments that ignite your team to excel and engage in learning experiences
  • Make sure department meetings, team update meetings, and in-services are a priority

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass background checks
  • Must be able to achieve ServSafe certification
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, and a good steward
  • Work onsite including Mondays through Saturdays
  • Ability to be on call as needed
  • Reliable transportation

Skills & Experience:

  • Leadership experience required
  • POS, inventory control, and budget management
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication & customer service skills are required
  • Ability to navigate interpersonal challenges to improve customer and team relationships
  • Strong organizational & time management skills
  • 3 or more years of customer service experience preferred
  • 1 year or more of barista experience preferred
